BURNCO Rock Products Ltd has a fantastic opportunity for a IT Business Advisor based out of one of our regional offices in Irving, Texas or Henderson, Colorado. Under general direction from the Director, RMX, Aggregate, and Asphalt Solutions, the IT Business Advisor is responsible for proactively building relationships with business leaders at various levels for a specific region or product line.
The role is to ensure that IT is aligned with the business strategy and proactively shape business needs.
The IT Business Advisor is a key contributor for executing the IT strategy by providing leadership and vision of IT Services and balancing and coordinating the fulfillment of the business needs.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- This roles success will be predicated on establishing strong working relationships with the key stakeholders throughout the company
- Work with Business Partners to facilitate development of solutions based upon requirements, impacted business processes, and ensure solutions meet the needs of the Business Partners.
- Build credibility and trust between operational groups and IT.
- Innovate using knowledge and awareness of industry trends to identify new opportunities.
- This role is required to perform a significant level of planning, analysis and requirements captured across diverse stakeholders with dynamic business requirements and priorities.
- Apply advanced business analysis, IT and problem-solving skills to align Business Partners needs to the identification and delivery of technology solutions.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and take accountability for service delivery along with Project Management.
- Liaise closely with Business Partners to identify business challenges and opportunities and develop joint business and IT plans.
- Translate business vision to enable shared understanding and rapid execution by business and IT personnel.
- Provide thorough leadership for continuous improvement, facilitate the setting for teamwork and performance, and foster continuous learning.
- Work closely with project managers teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of IT projects. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and proactively address issues to keep projects on track

Experience/Technical Skills/Knowledge
- 10+ years of experience including progressive people leadership accountabilities, ideally with an equal split of 4-5 years in IT/technical roles and 4-5 years in business or a not-IT functional role, preferably in the construction materials industry.
- Business analysis – experience in identifying, aggregating, and presenting business requirements for services and solutions.
- Project Management – experience with planning and executing projects
- Experience in IT governance, portfolio management and/or business case development
- Excellent organizational change management skills and knowledge
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft 365
- Experience in project handover/ handover to operation along with associated change management knowledge.
- Experience related to IT controls, security assessments, audit, and compliance would be nice to have.
- High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
Education/Certification/Designation
- Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant field (computer science, engineering, business)
- BRM certification desired
- Project Management Professional certification, nice to have
- ITIL v4 Foundation, nice to have
