Ames National Laboratory is seeking applicants for an Executive Administrative Assistant within the Director’s Office. This position will be responsible for performing proactive, professional-level support for the Ames Laboratory Director and Laboratory Executive Council. Responsibilities include drafting, editing, and sending communications on behalf of the Director, communicating with DOE, ISU, and National Laboratory Directors’ Council, supporting high-level visits, coordinating schedules and meetings, maintaining records for the DOE contract and space management, planning lab-wide events, and administrative and travel support for the Director and Chief Operations Officer.

The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and proactive to ensure necessary concurrence and timely completion under deadlines. This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to handle high-level communications with necessary tact, professionalism, and sensitivity to confidentiality. The incumbent will possess the ability to effectively and professionally work with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders within a team environment and work independently as needed for responsibilities. The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is critical for success in this position.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
