Product Strategy Analyst
iwocaAbout the role
We’re here because we believe in small businesses. We believe they deserve better than waiting weeks for a loan. And we believe it’s our job to help them grow.
We started in 2012 with these principles, and we hold true to them today – now that we’re one of the fastest-growing fintechs in Europe. In the time between, we’ve built the best tech platform in lending, won several awards and opened up £3.5 billion in loans to over 90,000 businesses.
So what’s next? Our mission now is to help one million businesses who need us. To do this, we’ll need new products and partnerships. But most of all, we’ll need smart, hands-on people to join us on the journey and get us to our goal.
At iwoca, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our lending products and features, so that we can attract and serve more small business owners with access to finance. As a Product Strategy Analyst joining our DE Lending Proposition team you will help develop and improve lending products for iwoca’s customers in Germany. The role can be based either in London or Frankfurt. Knowledge of the German language would be beneficial, but isn’t a requirement for this role.
Requirements
Here are some of the things you’ll do:
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities in the German commercial lending industry. Analyse data to understand competitor activities and market trends that can guide our product development.
- Customer Insights: Collect and analyse customer feedback and data to understand their pain points, preferences, and needs. Combine these insights with market research to inform product decisions and improvements.
- Product Performance Analytics: Analyse the potential impact of different propositions and model outcome scenarios, based on internal data and market research. Structure lending proposition tests, thinking through the different ways to gather insights and make recommendations based on resource needs and opportunity costs associated with launching or delaying a test.
- Test Monitoring: Monitor test performance, work with the relevant business and data analysts, and make recommendations on the lending proposition roadmap as a result.
- Communication and teamwork: Collaborate with a network of fellow iwocans across our London and Frankfurt-based offices and be directly involved in communicating product strategies, updates, and performance across the business.
You’ll work on a variety of fast-paced projects, learning from tests and effecting changes which really make an impact. As part of this you will have exposure to senior management, as well as stakeholders from across the business (including Tech & Analytics, Risk, Marketing & Finance). You’ll get a say in how things are done, the opportunity to make a difference to small business owners, and the chance to work on big and challenging projects.
Who we’re looking for:
In brief - you have recently graduated or already gained some first professional experience (1-2 years). You have a strong analytical mind, are enthusiastic about problem-solving and are eager to learn many new skills on the job.
Some things we expect from you:
- Structured and strategic thinking - You know about frameworks for analysing issues, structuring effective presentations and solving complex problems. You are able to disentangle bigger problems into small ones and solve them one by one
- Analytical mind - You are comfortable working with data to create useful reports and analyses, have the ability to take on risk and make decisions with limited initial information, and then update your views as you learn what works and what doesn’t
- Creative - You can think in different dimensions and empathise with the problems of various teams and our customers
- Smart - Perceptive and proactive, you give due attention to detail, you start by asking ‘why?’
- Humble - You are a team player who is willing to help and collaborate with others, you’re willing to accept criticism and are open to being wrong
- Motivated and eager to learn - Enthusiastic and ready to take on new challenges; keen to learn the basics of Data Science tools like python pandas and SQL
- Growth mindset - You seek continuous improvement, always pushing yourself to be even better than you are today
- You enjoy working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- You are a fluent English speaker, some knowledge of German is beneficial but not required
We work hard to make iwoca a place where everyone feels welcome - we want everyone to confidently be themselves. For us, diversity isn't an optional add-on. It's the thing that makes us great.
