About the role:
In Samsara’s Business Technology Core IT team, we work to deliver awesome systems, support, and experiences that enable our teams to be as impactful as possible. As a member of the team, you’ll be responsible for owning the technology and processes that enable our people to do their best work. This role will be eligible for remote work.

In this role, you will:
- Be the primary owner for key applications or infrastructure: integrate best practices, develop roadmaps, ensure service availability, optimize performance, and maximize impact
- Develop and deploy new architecture patterns for services that maximize availability, security, scalability, and livability for the supporting team
- Research, assess, and incorporate the best new vendors and technologies into our stack
- Design, build, deploy, integrate, and maintain the core technologies and services that power our business
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 2+ years of experience in an Software or IT Systems Engineering role
- Experience with Identity Mngt/ OKTA, Meraki Networks, Terraform, and SysAdmin
- Experience working with API’s in Javascript (Node.js) and/or Python
- Built, and owned, custom integrations
- Solid fundamentals of IT infrastructure, security, and corporate systems
- Enthusiasm for helping others by learning and building things, and a desire to join a small but growing team!
An ideal candidate also has:
- Exposure to scale in a SaaS-first IT environment (Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, etc)
- Developed and managed applications in a team environment
- Experience with AWS cloud services: Lambda, EC2, S3, etc
- Expertise with Google Workspace and Google Cloud Platform
- Expertise in corporate networking and email infrastructure, CCNP+ knowledge
- Expertise in MDM systems across multiple platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux, Mobile,
