The North American Senior Accountant will have general ledger accounting responsibility to maintain and report financial information for Black Diamond North American subsidiaries, its consolidated financial statements and public filings, preparation of departmental expense reports, preparation and filing of sales and property tax returns, and maintain good relationships with vendors 

Education

Required: BS in Accounting

Preferred: Master of Accounting

Work Experience

Required: 2 years public accounting or equivalent industry experience

Preferred: Experience in a retail or manufacturing environment

Requirements

Authorized and responsible to continuously improve upon and perform all duties according to Quality, Safety and Employee Policies and procedures:

1. Responsible to maintain accounting records and perform month-end close procedures and assist in producing financial information for  North American subsidiaries.   
2. Responsible to perform bank reconciliations, maintain fixed asset accounting system, debt scheduling, inventory tracking, prepaid expenses, payroll accruals and monthly reoccurring journal entries; mail order and retail accounting, and investigate account variances. 
3. Assist North American Controller in the cash management function that all transactions are recorded in the general ledger in a timely manner (daily) and in the correct amount and period. 
4. Responsible to prepare and distribute monthly departmental expense reports by the 10th of the subsequent month, except as otherwise directed by the North American Controller. 
5. Responsible to document and file sales tax returns on a monthly and quarterly basis. 
6. Responsible to document and file property tax and unclaimed property returns, as well as filing US Census reports. 
7. Responsible to assist in the design and implementation of new accounting and control systems in accordance with SOX requirements. 
8. Assist in financial forecasting and budgeting. 
9. Authorized and responsible for responding to queries from auditors of various types as required. 
10. Assist with AP duties as needed, such as check disbursements, maintaining AP records, etc.   
11. Calculate monthly sales commissions and quarterly royalties. 
12. Monitor and communicate daily cash balances. 
13. Analyze new and complex accounting transactions to determine proper accounting treatment as directed by North American Controller and Financial Reporting Manager. Perform accounting research to support these transactions.
