POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Team Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing and guiding a team of nurses to deliver exceptional patient care. This position combines clinical expertise with leadership skills to ensure that both patient care standards and operational goals are met. The RN Team Lead will collaborate with healthcare professionals, manage resources, and act as a mentor to nursing staff, promoting a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement. The Registered Nurse Team Lead is expected to uphold the organization’s mission and values while fostering an environment that enhances patient care, staff engagement, and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Associates of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Management preferred.
Certification:
- Certification in leadership or nursing specialty preferred (e.g., Nurse Executive, CNL).
Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure high standards of patient care and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage daily nursing operations, including patient assignments and staff scheduling.
