Join the dynamic and fast-paced world of emergency medicine as we seek a passionate and seasoned individual to take on the role of Clinical Operations Director at the vibrant BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health!

In the heart of our cutting-edge emergency care system, this position will lead the administrative clinical infrastructure so our providers can deliver top-tier medical attention to our diverse patients. As the Clinical Operations Director, you will be responsible for orchestrating operational staffing and resources, in addition to quality initiatives that play a crucial role in public health and safety for our community.

Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and a matrixed relationship with the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations, the Clinical Operations Director is the driving force behind the administrative excellence and supervision of our clinical operation's teams. This pivotal role involves spearheading financial, human resources, IT, infrastructure, and overall operational functions to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Collaboration is key, and you will be working with leaders throughout DEM, UW School of Medicine and Public Health, and UW Health. This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with leaders across different levels and departments. The incumbent requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities with proven problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Responsibilities:

Assists with the planning and direction for the administrative operations of a division or business unit(s) of the institution to advance program goals and objectives.
  • 20% Engages in strategic planning and policies to ensure the strategic direction supports the needs of stakeholders
  • 25% Evaluates, designs, and implements operations to align with the strategic direction
  • 10% Assists with the establishment of goals and priorities for the annual budget for all revenues and expenditures
  • 10% Helps develop processes and procedures to improve the unit
  • 25% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 10% Ensures that related policies, procedures, and standards are maintained

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree and Master's degree

Qualifications:

Required:
- At least five years of progressive experience in healthcare administration

Minimally two years of experience with the following preferred:
- Working in an academic and/or medical setting
- Developing and monitoring budgets
- Creating, managing, negotiating, and executing contracts
- Supervising multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $80,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
