Your Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Core One, you will be an integral part of a small, high-energy, and fast-paced team responsible for developing and delivering cutting-edge communications-related capabilities. Your contributions will directly influence our customers' success, and you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively on architecting, designing, building, and enhancing highly available, scalable, web-based, and mobile product solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Act as a technical software lead, directing and contributing to the efforts of development teams.
• Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, from analysis and design to testing, implementation, maintenance, and production support.
• Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications based on requirements and subject matter expert input.
• Develop practical, efficient, and robust solutions for complex software challenges.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and evaluate vendor packages to drive continuous improvement.
• Analyze alternatives and provide recommendations for process and technology improvements.
• Assist in task planning, scheduling, and staffing estimates for software engineering activities.
• Mentor team members, fostering skill and knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training.

Requirements and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field OR 10+ years of relevant experience (in lieu of education).
• 8+ years of proven software development experience.
• Strong expertise in designing, programming, and implementing large information systems.
• Ability to perform in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues.
• Profound knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
• Experience with API development and working with relational and non-relational databases.
• Proficiency in Linux, shell scripting, and related automation/configuration tools (e.g., Ansible, apt, etc.).
• A passion for continuous learning and adaptability to evolving business needs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, enabling you to understand others and express your thoughts clearly.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

• 10+ years of software development experience in modern programming languages (Python, Rust, C/C++, JavaScript, Go, etc.).
• Experience working with web application frameworks to build responsive web-apps.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Linux operating systems, and virtualization.
• Proficiency in developing WebRTC and mobile applications for Android.
• Knowledge of software CI/CD, testing tools, workflows, and source code management tools (e.g., GitLab).
• Previous experience working in agile software development teams and environments.
• Familiarity with computer network defense and related cybersecurity practices.
