Logistics Manager

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Logistics Manager to join our growing team. 

 

Logistics Manager – LTL, Last Mile, Parcel

 

Responsibilities

•  Responsible for all commercial activities within assigned modes of transportation which includes carrier selections, negotiating rates and contracts, and performing annual RFQs.
•  Maintains carrier routing guides that optimizes rates, carrier performance, and availability.
•  Leads contracting process with carriers and service providers (drafting, redlining, approvals, and signature process).
•  Responsible for forecasting inflation/deflation across assigned modes of transportation, and partners with Finance to forecast impacts for each line of business.
•  Conducts quarterly business reviews (QBR) with carriers and internal stakeholders.
•  Monitors carrier performance and service level metrics, and actively works with carriers for continuous improvement.
•  Maintains pipeline of annual cost savings/productivity initiatives that reduces year-over-year freight costs and aligns with logistic strategies.
•  Partners with JELD-WEN’s dedicated Managed Transportation Services team to resolve any escalated carrier issues.
•  Participates in the development of policies and procedures; coordinates and communicates applicable changes to carriers.
•  Stay up-to-day on the transportation market/trends and proactively communicates any potential impacts to JELD-WEN.
•  Responsible for carrier onboarding and ongoing relationship management.
•  Partners with Freight Admin Team to ensure high levels of carrier invoice accuracy.
   

Qualifications

•  Strong project management, thought leadership, partnership and communication skills are mandatory
•  The candidate will also need an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and develop business cases to promote support to pursue new opportunities
•  BA/BS required
•  5+ years of work experience in transportation procurement/sourcing and a thorough understanding of operations
•  Experience with transportation management systems or managed transportation
•  Experience with Bid Optimization tools (Jaggaer, Coupa)
•  Financial modeling and data analytics skills, strategic thinking and the ability to influence on multiple levels of the organization
•  Communication and collaboration skills with the proven ability to influence
•  Ability to manage multiple projects and issues with exceptional attention to detail
•  Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer
• Travel 10-15%
