JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring fiscal sustainability, and driving strategic financial planning. This role involves managing budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and compliance while optimizing revenue and controlling costs. The Director of Finance collaborates with the CFO and communities’ administrators to support operational efficiency and long-term growth, ensuring that financial decisions align with the organization’s mission and regulatory requirements.

· Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's short- and long-term objectives. 

· Partner with the communities’ administrators to optimize financial performance. 

· Provide financial insights and forecasting to support operational and strategic decision-making.

· Lead the annual budget process, working closely with communities’ administrators and department leaders. 

· Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide variance analysis with recommendations. 

· Prepare and present financial reports to leadership and board of directors.

· Oversee financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. 

· Maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure financial accuracy. 

· Coordinate audits and tax filings with external accounting firms.

· Manage billing, accounts receivable, and collections to optimize cash flow. 

· Analyze revenue streams, including private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance reimbursements. 

· Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality resident services.

· Work closely with HR and Operations to manage payroll, staffing costs, and labor efficiency. 

· Support contract negotiations with vendors and service providers. 

· Assist in capital expenditure planning and financial feasibility analysis.

· Maintains knowledge of and follows all Plymouth Place policies and procedures.

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

· Attends in-service and education programs.

Requirements

    

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred). 

· 3+ years of financial management experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or a related industry.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Strong understanding of non-profit financial regulations, tax-exempt status, and fund accounting. 

· Knowledge of compliance with accounting standards (GAAP).

· Experience with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, private pay models, and long-term care financing. 

· Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills. 

· Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to leadership and board members.

· Organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

· Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, families, and employees.
