Your Role at Baxter

The Novum Pump Platform (NPP) is Baxter’s state of the art infusion platform designed to deliver life saving and life sustaining medication to our patients. Whether it is saving the life of a trauma patient or helping a family welcome new life into the world, our pumps must meet the highest safety standards. 

Responsible for assisting in designing, developing, implementing and evaluating optimal, cost-effective projects and technologies. In addition to providing technical support and service to these areas, the incumbent may also perform the following functions: requisitioning, defining, initiating, specifying, and documenting. 

What you'll be doing:

• Develop software in C/C++ and Python for embedded devices. 

• Write design specifications. 

• Write test procedures. 

• Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings.  

• Attend and participate in technical reviews of NPP project. 

• Act independently with minimal supervision to conduct smaller approved projects.

• Expected to make suggestion on improvements based on recent technical knowledge. 

• Able to contribute to cost estimating of major capital budget items and the spending of approved project funds. 

• Contribute to the planning and execution of components of the development process, which apply to product revision or enhancement or a defined piece of a larger project. 

• Ability to manage routine small projects without assistance. 

• Investigate and analyze customer service problems and design improvement suggestions. Recommend design improvements. 

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor of Engineering degree in software, Computer or Electrical Engineering or related with 1 + years of experience or Masters with 1+. 

• Familiarity with C/C++ 

• Familiarity with Linux a plus 

• Familiarity with Python, MATLAB or other object-oriented programming languages  

• Strong verbal and written communication skills  

• Demonstrated leadership qualities and problem-solving skills
