About Our Group

This procurement commodity group focuses on supplier management for Raw Materials for all aircraft programs (G650/G700/G800 & G400/G500/G600) and business units including Production, Customer Support, Completions and Government Programs.  Our role is to manage - procurement from PO issuance to part delivery from our suppliers, which requires critical & strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, administrative tasks, agility, adaptability, ability to persuade, influence others and a sense of urgency in everything we do. May be responsible for -t sourcing to develop plans, evaluate potential suppliers and lead cross functional negotiation teams for high dollar, multi-year and/or complex procurement awards.  Business travel is required, so flexibility in your schedule availability is preferred. This procurement commodity group will also be engaged in both tactical and strategic initiatives for Metallic Raw Material for customer support requirements for out of production aircraft platforms.

 

About the Role 

  • Candidate selected for this role will be responsible for complex assemblies within a global supply chain. 
  • Composite experience preferred. 
  • High dollar commercial negotiation management preferred.

 

 


 

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Master's Degree preferred. 6 years of purchasing or related technical experience.

Position Purpose:

Responsible for developing, planning and leading projects for current and/or new aircraft models including negotiations for contract awards and resolution of ongoing high dollar commercial issues. Additionally administers multiple subcontracts for strategic source components such as Joint Development Program agreements, agreements with suppliers who provide products for multiple Gulfstream aircraft models and/or those agreements which represent the highest dollar annual commitment contracts for Gulfstream.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Facilitate all Supply Chain Management activity within assigned area of responsibility to create greatest possible strategic sourcing leverage and to provide highest possible level of support for Gulfstream internal customers.
  2. Request and reviews proposals, conducts bid evaluations, evaluates costs, negotiates prices, schedules and terms and conditions within management guidelines, prepares and administers purchase orders and/or long term agreements such as Master Orders and Blanket Purchase Agreements and monitors each suppliers performance.
  3. Responsible for preparing annual supplier performance master plan including objectives and priorities for material management, quality, reliability and product support as well as calendar and format for program reviews. .
  4. Manage supplier performance to master plan by identifying problems, both internally and at the supplier, determining source of the problem, taking corrective action, and planning and coordinating the involvement of Gulfstream Management, as appropriate.
  5. Serve as a principal point of contact with departments being supported for strategic commodities.
  6. Within assigned commodity area, as well as in Supply Chain in general, lead appropriate team members to accomplish tasks. Mentors and develops problem solving and other daily activities. .
  7. Interpret program and/or statement of work requirements; recommends and implements action with suppliers Purchasing/Materials Manager to ensure achievement of all requirements.
  8. Coordinate negotiations with an emphasis on achieving cost reductions, maximizing savings, and securing pricing that is within the objectives set forth in an approved negotiation plan.
