JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Campus Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for providing logistical support to the Lower School Administrative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including classroom coverage, student supervision, and office support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TASKS:
- Actively monitors the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Provides classroom coverage throughout the school day when teachers are absent.
- Implements lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Performs duties typically assigned to absent teachers, including but not limited to lunch supervision, recess duty, and other student supervision responsibilities.
- Supervises students during morning arrival, lunch, and dismissal times.
- Escorts students arriving late or departing early, ensuring proper check-in/out procedures.
- Serves as a backup when the Lower School Campus Specialist is out of the office.
- Provides administrative support in the Lower School office by supporting day-to-day operations.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds and needs of the school community, delivering an inclusive and equitable experience to all students.
- Communicates effectively and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and families.
- Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the assignment of additional responsibilities that are logically related to the position.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- High School diploma and experience working with school-aged students preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality of all school information.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and accurately under intense pressure.
- Ability to use independent judgment and decision-making.
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office Professional software programs.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and accomplish specific tasks as requested.
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students.
- Work in a fast-paced, stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time and have the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Adequate physical mobility, dexterity, and strength to participate in the school environment and ambulate across campus.
