General Summary:

The Associate Product Manager role is responsible for planning and execution of the ConnectWise platform, or Business Suite, throughout the entire lifecycle, from gathering requirements, designing technical and functional specifications, managing the product backlog, and coordinating development efforts, through to implementation and subsequent support. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the platform roadmap working closely with engineering and a full cross-functional team including PMs, product marketing, sales, partners, support etc. 
  • Define and drive the business plan, strategy, and positioning of the products to map to corporate growth strategy 
  • Interact with customers and prospects to define market requirements, and translate these requirements into product requirements that the development team can deliver within specification, on time, and within budget 
  • Work closely with Product Marketing to define the go to market plan 
  • Represent all ConnectWise brands in key customer engagements, at analyst events, conferences and other venues 
  • Manage feature requests, product backlog and maintenance items 
  • Build, measure and refine product requirements and user experience  
  • Co-create and manage product lifecycle management and software development lifecycle with engineering. 
  • Identify, develop, and manage contractual, technical, and consulting relationships with strategic partners/customers and providers, including joint ventures and subsidiary relationships and projects 
  • Gather, validate, and evaluate product/market requirements through market and customer research, competitive and product research 
  • Develop functional specifications for assigned product features to include effective product and user interface design, rapid prototyping, product validation testing, and usability testing, while ensuring that the product strategy is adhered to throughout the product life cycle  
  • Develop and deliver materials to the appropriate marketing and sales organizations which convey the purpose and details of the product, definition of its user, benefits to the customer, customization capabilities, and competitive comparison 
  • Work very closely with engineering leaders to drive disruptive innovation and development prioritization 
  • Coordinate and build strong working relations with various internal organizations including; Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Community, Product Development, & Operations 
  • Assist in the development, approval, training, and communication of new products/product changes and their associated customer, operational, system, & process impacts to the various internal organizations

  • In-depth knowledge of the ConnectWise PSA application to include a minimum 2 years’ experience of use 
  • Knowledge of the ConnectWise Community, the IT industry, and best practices to using the Business Suite in all functions of an IT business 
  • Understanding of how ConnectWise, LabTech, Quosal, ScreenConnect, and Dyno Suite applications work together to solve business problems 
  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills; verbal and written, with the ability to communicate across business and technology 
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer and team-oriented management 
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically 
  • Ability to work in a rapid pace environment with multiple and shifting priorities 
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
