The Role:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for requirements gathering, business process modeling, and functional design for the Data Reporting Analytics / Enterprise Data Platform (DRA / EDP) program. The BSA will work closely with DRA / EDP leadership and the program team to ensure translation of business needs into use case requirements. The BSA is accountable for documenting Business Processes and leading Business Process Re-design sessions when necessary. The BSA may be responsible for other activities including research, reporting, participating in design, and testing of deliverables.
Day to Day:
- Supports the Business Analytics team throughout the DRA / EDP Program.
- Develops use case requirements through interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, event lists, task and workflow analysis, and management viewpoints.
- Performs gap analysis to compare current data processes with business objectives. Leads re-engineering of business processes and develops solutions to business problems.
- Authors complete documentation of business processes.
- Develops business requirements into comprehensive Functional Design Specification (FDS) documents for review and use by business stakeholders, Developers, QA Specialists, Production Support Specialists, and Product Owners.
- Responsible for tracking, prioritizing and reporting the status of multiple initiatives.
- Writes concise requirement specifications according to standard templates.
- Identifies and documents data requirements and data mappings relating business rules between data sources and target entities.
- Establishes and maintains productive business partnerships across the organization.
- Manages expectations through direct and routine interaction with business partners.
- May participate in other duties such as documenting test scripts, plans and system testing.
- Provides support to the Quality Assurance Specialist to develop thorough QA test plans.
- Works with the business stakeholders to complete the UAT testing, gather and log defects, manage defect resolution, and gains written UAT approval for production release.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective system operations.

Come on your first day with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Business related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in data analysis and SQL is highly desirable.
- 8-10 years of related experience with progressively more complex analysis projects including Business Process documentation and re-engineering.
- 5 or more years of working on projects and project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and to lead others in a directed effort to complete projects.
- Advanced presentation skills, with proven ability to present at the Executive, Director and Manager levels.
- Strong verbal communication skills including the proven ability to communicate effectively on an individual and group presentation basis, including negotiation and facilitation skills and techniques.
- Skilled at assessing stakeholder needs and asking probing questions to understand underlying needs and surface essential requirements information.
- Demonstrated ability to work with employees and management at all levels of the organization including skill in working across organizational and geographical boundaries.
