Responsibilities:
- Support system design and Architecture for IR Sensor Systems: Oversee the design and architecture of infrared sensor systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and objectives.
- Requirements Management: Effectively manage system requirements throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with stakeholder needs.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including software, electrical, and optical engineers.
- System Integration and Testing: Support the integration and testing phases to ensure seamless functionality and performance of the sensor systems in both laboratory and final integration.
- Compliance and Reliability: Help ensure that all systems comply with relevant standards and certifications, and are reliable under operational conditions.
- ICD Creation: Support the develop and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to clearly define system interfaces.
- Support in Performance Analysis: Assist in the analysis of system performance to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal operation.
- Defining Sensor Interfaces: Support in the definition of sensor interfaces to ensure compatibility and integration with other system components.
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
- General knowledge of optical imaging system components (lenses, sensors, sensor and image processing electronics, etc.) and their characterization
- Strong understanding of the systems engineering life cycle
- Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each
- Experience in system design and development from initial concept through test and delivery to customer
- An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience with radiometric modeling
Knowledge of image processing techniques
Proficiency in an analytical toolchains/languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python)<
