Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant position is part of the Expedia Group, Inc. Financial Reporting team located in Seattle, Washington. The broader Financial Reporting team is responsible for various technical accounting processes including SEC Reporting, stock-based compensation, foreign exchange analytics, technical accounting analysis, M&A support/liaising, and ad hoc projects. In this specific position, you will focus primarily on the SEC filing process and will work cross functionally with Accounting, Legal, Investor Relations, Corporate Financial Planning, Tax and Treasury.
What you'll do:
You will assist in the preparation of our SEC quarterly and annual filings, including:
Preparation of equity shares outstanding schedules used in EPS calculations
Preparation and/or review of schedules supporting our footnotes and management discussion and analysis;
Tie-out of the filings;
XBRL tagging review; and
Be a key contact for our external auditor during quarterly reviews and annual audit.
In addition to the core external reporting responsibilities, you will also:
Prepare the consolidated Expedia Group quarterly P&L analytics;
Participate in the annual 401K financial statement compilation, tie-out, and liaison with our external auditors;
Complete quarterly and annual census surveys; and
Ad hoc projects, including assisting with debt filings, etc.
Who you are:
BA or BS in Accounting required; CPA is preferred
At least 2-3 years of experience at Big 4 firm
Demonstrate understanding of US GAAP
Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to clearly articulate complex processes to audiences with varying level of understanding
Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional relationships
Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload
Ability to think analytically to solve non-recurring and complex issues
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
