Position overview:
The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing parts and coaching peers in line with the sourcing strategy at the lowest total cost. Outstanding collaboration with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Sales & Marketing, and Customer Support Teams is critical to achieve the objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Senior Sourcing Specialist will be responsible of the following:
- Delegate incoming work to Sourcing Specialists to balance workload
- Mentor and aid sourcing specialists to help them succeed and grow in their role
- Plan and track RFQs to meet required timelines with discipline and accountability
- Complete gap analysis and total cost analysis on all quotes obtained
- Negotiate cost and lead-times with suppliers
- Leverage analytics and best practices to create process efficiencies
- Collaborate with strategic sourcing team on supplier roadmaps and strategies
- Identify, resolve, and expedite issues to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Communicate with internal customers and external suppliers
- Assist in cost recovery for vendor-related quality/delivery issues
Key Competencies:
The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:
- Ability to coach co-workers to facilitate team proficiency
- Knowledge of materials management, supply chain, and purchasing
- Ability to understand both strategic and tactical goals, and act appropriately
- Experienced negotiator
- Ability to review engineering drawings and specifications
- Understanding of material requirements (dimensional, physical, and chemical)
- Understanding of supply contracts and related terms and conditions
- PC proficient, working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Effective communication skills and a team player
- Good organizational skills – ability to prioritize and problem solve independent of supervision
- Ability to exercise and apply critical thinking to day-to-day situations
- Ability to perform cost/benefit analysis
- Understanding specific cost drivers of those products under his/her responsibility
