About the Team
The Unified Datastore team focuses on building services that serve as a compliant storage foundation of the ByteDance employee and user data. We aim to provide centralized management of data from various sources, and enforce access control to it. The team focuses on but is not limited to building a unified data storage service, providing secure and compliant access to the data, auditing any data operations, and building AI-Native applications to dig more value from managed data.

Responsibilities：
- Participate in and/or be responsible for the analysis of business and product requirements;
- Unified Data Storage - design, implement and maintain service components that support heterogeneous data sources.
- Data Governance - design, implement and maintain service components that support compliant data storage, access control and auditing.
- AI-Native apps - Inspire internal businesses using LLMs and CUI.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
- Experienced in building and overall maintenance of at least one complex system;
- Proficient in common storage components in a backend service such as object storage systems, document storage systems, relational databases, caches, message queues, Flink, etc.;
- Proficient in at least one programming language, Golang being preferred.

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience and curiosity for AI technology;
- Exposure to Networking and Data Security systems.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $212800 - $389500 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
