IHC in Kokomo, Indiana is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and is looking for a rewarding opportunity! Overview:
- Functions as a support person for the patient; assists the patient to the examination room, gives information to the patient, and collects information for the provider
- Obtains vital signs and other pertinent physical data
- Completes and updates the medical history of the patient
- Check the health care plan appropriate for the patient’s age
- Assists the doctor with examinations and minor surgeries, performs EKGs, hearing and vision testing, and nebulizer treatments
- Performs venipunctures and gives immunizations
- Performs Hct/Hgb’s, hematocrit, blood sugars, urine dipsticks, pregnancy tests, lead screens, strep tests, etc
- Prepares and sends out laboratory, pap, lead screens, and STD for testing
- Keeps logs and paperwork associated with the above tests and procedures current
- Records laboratory tests and processes laboratory test results
- Follows up on TB and Immunizations
- Updates EMR with test results and checks results against the lab test log.
- Completes medical and laboratory supply inventories for all exam rooms and labs
- Sterilizes instruments

Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required: Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program (MA)
- Required: Certified Medical Assistant: Passed the CMA, RMA, or CCMA exam
- Required: Updated resume including education, dates & certificates at the time of application (Diploma, Degree, or Certificate)
- Bilingual: Preferred but not required for this position
- Proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AED included)
- Experience with electronic health records is preferred (eCW is a plus)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Interacts with colleagues and patients in a professional manner
- Possess excellent communication skills
