About the Role
BetMGM is looking for a Retail Senior Systems Administrator who will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. The administrator will serve as a technical expert in the area of system design and administration for complex operating systems and recommend the re-design and configuration of operating systems and system applications. The administrator will also: investigate and analyze feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications; identify methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department; and may also provide partial or full supervision of Operations staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of BetMGM Retail locations by engaging with the site contacts, monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly documented, approved, and communicated. Apply revisions to host system firmware and software. Work with vendors & partners to assist support activities
- Develop new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Train local technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired
- May supervise Operations staff and vendors to help with the implementation, and maintenance of the environment. May guide or provide work direction to remote technical staff, contract staff and/or local partner employees
- Perform troubleshooting as required whenever there is an issue. As such, lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations
- Establish, maintain, and manage users accounts. Install, modify, and maintain systems and utility software on server computer systems. Provide server support related to other software
- Establish guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the kiosks, servers. computer operating systems, local network, disk arrays, tape libraries and other components
- Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources
- Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and user abuse
- Develop procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications
- Develop and coordinate project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the organizations. Provide leadership in planning and implementation of projects for computer operations and enterprise systems administration
- Develop tools, procedures, and training sessions for local operations, Client Support and Systems Development staff to assist with work
- Manage the remote MDF both BetMGM locations and remote partner locations. This includes hardware, software, local network, environmental, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system
- Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways for BetMGM to take advantage of new technology

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related experience disciplines
- Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis
