About the Role

The Senior Project Specialist is a key member of a Program Management Office (PMO) within the Peripheral Interventions business unit at Boston Scientific. As a part of PMO team, this role will be responsible to support NPD, Sustaining and Integration project management teams with planning activities, developing standard tools and templates, project reviews, best practices, creation and management of project performance reports and dashboards.

This role will have direct engagement with key stakeholders across the organization, and responsible for managing PMO tools and sites.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate planning sessions for project teams during product development.
  • Support creation of training material, templates, and best practices.
  • Manage PMO SharePoint and applications for user access, content, and continuous improvements.
  • Become subject matter expert for Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system.
  • Collaborate with finance team for forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with PMO and finance team to track, analyze and report project performance.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly results to Project managers and Functional leaders that visually communicates data and metrices.
  • Support departmental initiatives related to NPD and project management tools, systems, process, and methods improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Key Skills / Competencies:

    • Strong organization, execution, and communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of tools especially Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of information.
    • Models and promotes collaboration and works effectively with others across the project team, organization, and stakeholders to achieve goals.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within project teams.
    • Ability to work on multiple activities and initiatives with minimum supervision.
    • Growth Mindset - comfortable with ambiguity.

 

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering or Project Management.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience in Engineering product development, Manufacturing, Project management or related field.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member, and exercise good judgment to handle a variety of situations.
  • Experience working in fast paced environment in a matrix organization.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Power BI or Tableau business intelligence software & visualizations.
  • Previous hands-on experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of Product Development Process (PDP).
  • PMP certification is desired but not required.
