Role Description
The Construction Manager will oversee and manage the construction of industrial and factory buildings, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively from initiation through completion. This role requires extensive experience in industrial construction, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of factory and industrial building design principles.
This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV. Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:
The organization structure of the group are vertical discipline leads who are responsible for a portion of the project from conception through final closeout. The vertical columns include the prefab metal building / structural, interior architecture and building openings, civil, electrical, mechanical, and fire protection.
This position is a horizontal band crossing multiple disciplines to specifically manage the construction phase with the input and collaboration with the technical leads. The intent of this position is to intersection with mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and the corresponding supplemental steel work
Construction Oversight:
This role will lead construction meetings and be the main FORM Energy point of contact for the project. They will lead deep dive construction meetings weekly and do routine check-ins with the construction teams. They will work with the project foreman / superintendent to ensure coordination with all work on site. When shut downs are required, it will be their responsibility to coordinate and schedule the work to avoid any disruptions to the construction or manufacturing.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of construction professionals, including site managers, supervisors, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Facilitate coordination meetings between different verticals to ensure smooth project progression.
Schedule and Budget Management:
Work with the project scheduler to update all associated construction activities including completion, items that pull in, and items that push out. It is their responsibility to understand how these changes would affect the schedule and prevent changes that will affect the overall schedule.
They will also be the first pass for project invoicing. Confirming that the work is complete and that all invoicing requirements have been met before the discipline lead approves the invoice.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all construction activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards. Promote a culture of safety on all job sites. Oversee shutdown procedures and approvals in line with safety regulations.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to resolve design and construction issues and ensure project requirements are met. Assist with the development of contracts, drafting RFPs, scrubbing contracts for scope gaps, and managing invoicing processes.
