Job Description
As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (I&C Engineer), you'll have the unique opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONEsolution integrated project delivery work. How will I contribute?
You'll contribute to the development and field implementation of documents through all project phases, sizes, and levels of complexity, including for large and complex control systems such as those with advanced hardware & networks for reliability, or integrated Safety Systems.
Responsibilities
- Interface with client and external partners
- Advise on the planning and management of project budget from I&C discipline design perspective
- Partner with Project Managers on proposal development, man-hour planning, project scheduling for the I&C scope of work
- Identify and resolve intermediate non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys
- Develop internal discipline design and engineering training presentations
- Develop construction drawing packages and write construction specifications on advanced and complex projects
- Coordination with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers
- Support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports
- Conduct quality checking of documents for complex projects, e.g. technical verification of design calculations and documentation, and drive overall project quality
- Provide mentorship to engineers and designers within Automation / Instrumentation & Controls team
- Lead advanced project system design programming and master planning with support

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in discipline specific degree (ARE, ChemE, ME or EE)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting
- Professional Registration
- ISA Certified Automation Professional Certification (preferred)
- Advanced experience with performing instrumentation and controls engineering calculations, and developing and implementing instrumentation and control system design
- Advanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting
- Experience with implementing fundamental design aspects of control system schematics, panel fabrication drawings, field wiring plans design preferred
- Experience reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
- Experience with other applicable electrical, mechanical, and building codes, Safety Instrumented Systems, and other industry standards
Additional Qualifications
- Familiarity with Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences facility projects preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit preferred
- Advanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments preferred
