Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Medical Oncology, Phase 1 Clinic

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) hired into this position will play an integral role across our adult Medical Oncology practice, seeing patients in the Medical Oncology Early Therapeutics and Novel Agents Care team. This Care team focuses on caring for patients receiving cancer directed treatment on a Phase 1 Clinical trial. All solid tumor malignancies are seen in this clinic. This person will be involved in seeing both new and established patients. The NP or PA will participate in screening patients for clinical trials, clinical trial enrollment, and will oversee care on a clinical trial. They will work closely with a team of Medical Oncologists, research nurses, clinical pharmacists, and research coordinators to care for patients. In addition, they will work closely with disease specific care teams, especially through transition of care on or off a clinical trial.
This is a busy and dynamic practice requiring individuals with excellent communication, teamwork, time management, flexibility, and critical thinking skillsets. This requires an individual to demonstrate adaptability, leadership skills and a keen interest in early cancer therapeutics and drug development. There is an opportunity to grow depth of understanding of cancer biomarkers and potentially actionable treatment pathways in this role.

Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible). Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.
Previous Internal Medicine, Oncology/Hematology, and/or NP/PA experience preferred, but not required.
