Personal Lines Insurance Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify insured risks align with the providers’ risk appetite, all compliance standards are met and address any quality concerns with insurance specialists.

• Review, analyze and respond to insurance carrier audits and regulatory requests.

• Handle retention of active policies, including reviewing accuracy of renewals, remarketing risks, and communicating with insurance specialists as necessary. 

• Review and respond to carriers for adverse action and underwriting requests for both new business and renewals. 

• Investigate claim disputes, gathering and providing appropriate documentation to assist management in rendering a decision. 

• Handle and respond to all electronic communications received by Insurance Services for personal lines products, including billing, servicing, and quote requests.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Communications, Business Management, Finance, Risk Management, or Mathematics.

• In-depth knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance industry and the responsibilities to the policyholders.

• Experience working within an Agency Management System

• The ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers, specialists and members.

• Minimum of two years of experience in property and casualty insurance sales and service.

• Must possess active North Carolina Personal Lines or Property & Casualty licenses or obtain those licenses within 1 month of hire.

• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation preferred.
