The Opportunity

We are looking for certified lifeguards to help staff several of our weekend trips. Each weekend, students opt into a variety of different trips, some of which have a water component. These includes trips to the beach, river rafting trips, and sailing/kayaking trips. A team of staff members will chaperone these trips, and that team will include certified lifeguards.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help to chaperone several weekend trips over the course of the summer. This will include traveling to and from the EXPLO campus at Sarah Lawrence College, riding buses with the students.
• Serve as the certified EXPLO lifeguard for these trips, collaborating with lifeguards at the trip venue, as needed.
• Additional hours during the week might be available for additional swimming activities (but this would not be a requirement).

About You

You’ve got:

• Active lifeguard certification, with a CPR certification less than one year old (or a willingness to renew CPR certification).
• Availability from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on either Saturday or Sunday (or both), during the weekends of 7/1-7/2, 7/8-7/9, 7/22-7/23, and 7/29-7/30.

Ideally, you’ve also got:

• Some experience working specifically with middle-school-aged students

Compensation + Benefits

This is a six-week, seasonal position that begins in mid-June 2023. Compensation for this part-time role starts at $25 per hour, and meals are provided on days that you work.
