At a Glance

 

Legrand is seeking a Sr. Product Manager for EV Charging to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team in West Hartford, CT. This role involves leading strategic planning and execution for our EV Charging product line, encompassing new product development, updates, operational management, and go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate will approach the EV market strategically, providing recommendations for long-term growth and competitive success. Responsibilities include direct collaboration with sales leadership, operations, support, and engineering teams.  Remote candidates in the Northeast will be considered for this role but will need to travel to West Hartford twice a month.  

 

What Will You Do?

  • Develops a long-term product roadmap for EV charging, including charger development, software partnerships, and site infrastructure/support items. Works to execute upon that roadmap in collaboration with internal teams (engineering, manufacturing, purchasing). 
  • Partners with Director of EV Sales/Business Development to build a clear and actionable go-to-market strategy.  Engages with sales team to educate and drive growth.
  • Engages directly with customers and partners to comprehend their needs and concerns, translating this feedback into innovative product solutions.  Supports product development initiatives through field visits, meetings with customers, feature recommendations, etc. to maintain a constant flow of new products and product enhancements. 
  • Analyzes competitive landscape and identifies trends.  Develops competitive cross-references and is a resource when questions arise.
  • Collaborates with marketing communications team on awareness-driving efforts and support tools for existing lines; identifies tools needed based on strong customer VOC.
  • Has a strong understanding of the EV market and associated technologies/drivers. 
  • Manages existing products through all phases of their lifecycle.  Leads forecasting efforts and works with operations and quality teams to handle any issues that may arise. 
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
  • Travel 25% (4 to 5 nights a month).  

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • BS in Marketing, Business or related.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in product management, marketing, engineering, or related field; or Master’s degree and applicable internship experience.  Specific knowledge and experience in the EV space is required for this role. 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Significant exposure to electric vehicle charging and a comprehensive understanding of its technical aspects.
  • A proven track record of driving innovation, developing, and executing integrated infrastructure solutions that address customer needs. Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.  Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer’s needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment.  Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.
  • Must have solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
