Software Engineer C++
General Summary
As a Software Engineer on Seegrid’s Application Truck Software team, you will develop and maintain new capabilities that directly impact our customers. You should expect to collaborate with other parts of the organization daily, be it with platform teams that provide critical autonomy capabilities, our Fleet software team that provides the user-facing interfaces, or with Product to align on upcoming initiatives. Success in this role requires comfort working in an existing legacy codebase, embracing change and emergent priorities, and a deep desire to satisfy our customers.
Responsibilities will consist of:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable, and reusable C++ code
- Actively participate in code review and team standups
- Develop products and features that get put to work in autonomous material handling vehicles
- Triage defects and identify resolutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, customer experience, engineering, and sales to design products with market impact
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of industry experience of deploying real solutions to the market
- Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study; or equivalent practical experience
- Strong software engineering knowledge and demonstrated expertise in C++
- Practical knowledge of modern software development practices
- Experience in writing maintainable, testable, and scalable code, identifying defects, and devising solutions
- Experience developing in a Linux environment
- Ability to clearly explain and communicate complex technical topics
Desirable Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of object-oriented software development, multi-threaded algorithms, and data structures
- Experience writing software for autonomous vehicles, robots, or other mechatronics products
- Experience working in a product-driven organization
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- A bias for action
