Job Description Summary
#LI-RemoteAt Novartis, we are pioneering the future of cancer treatment through Radioligand Therapy (RLT) - a powerful fusion of nuclear medicine and precision oncology. As we expand our global RLT manufacturing footprint, we are seeking passionate, purpose-driven individuals to join our mission of delivering life-changing therapies to patients around the world.
Novartis is scaling a resilient, compliant and patient‑centric isotopes supply network that underpins our radioligand medicines. As Program/Project Manager for Isotopes, you will drive cross‑functional programs—from capacity expansions and new site start‑ups to tech transfers and operational readiness—to ensure on‑time, in‑full isotope availability for our RLT portfolio. You’ll orchestrate Engineering, MS&T, QA/QC, HSE/Radiation Safety, Supply Chain, and external partners through stage‑gate governance (incl. capital approval processes such as CAR/E‑CAR) to deliver scope, schedule, budget and quality—safely and compliantly.
This position can be based remotely anywhere in the U.S. (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 20% travel.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Own program delivery for strategic Isotopes initiatives (e.g., new lines/facilities, internalizations, vendor transitions), establishing integrated master plans, risk registers and RAID management across workstreams.
- Lead operational readiness (people, process, tech, quality systems) through CQV/PPQ, tech transfer, validation and handover to steady‑state operations; uphold cGMP and radiation safety expectations.
- Drive governance and financial stewardship: prepare decision packs, track CAR/E‑CAR/p‑CAR deliverables, manage vendors, and control budgets, change and benefits realization.
- Partner with QA/QC and HSE/RSO to embed GxP, radiation safety and environmental safeguards; ensure audit/inspection readiness and close‑out of actions.
- Enable cross‑site/cross‑country orchestration of isotope sourcing and logistics, aligning with Supply Chain on OTIF and capacity ramp‑ups for RLT products.
- Champion Novartis culture (Inspired, Curious, Unbossed) and program ways‑of‑working (clear roles, sprint/PI cadences where useful, transparent metrics).
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or related field (Master’s/PhD a plus).
- 7+ years in complex program/project leadership in highly regulated manufacturing (pharma/biotech/radiopharma/nuclear medicine).
- Proven delivery across capital projects and/or brownfield/greenfield start‑ups, CQV/PPQ, tech transfers, and Stage‑Gate governance (incl. business cases and capital approvals).
- Strong GxP foundation; familiarity with radiation safety requirements (e.g., NRC/CNSC or equivalent) and EHS expectations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication across plant, platform, and executive audiences; vendor and contract oversight.
- Fluency in program controls (schedule, cost, risk, change, benefits); advanced skills with integrated planning and reporting.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in isotope production (e.g., Lu‑177), radiopharmaceutical processes, or radiochemistry environments.
- Certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Prince2, Lean/Six Sigma) and exposure to agile practices in validation/engineering contexts.
- Cross‑regional program leadership (Americas/EU/APAC) and multi‑site ramp‑up experience.
The salary for this position is expected to range between $138,600 and $257,400 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the
