Job Summary:
We are helping build the next generation Insurance Engine for Allstate and have an opportunity for several Test Engineers at the cutting edge of testing technology.
Your role through a combination of technical knowledge and owning testing will be to ensure quality is built into a new product from the start so that it is seamless, on demand, automated and invisible. You should be able to independently drive projects to completion.
The ideal person / persons will have working knowledge of Performance Testing in complex and large environments, be passionate about delivering quality products and had exposure to Services Testing.
The Performance Test Engineer will be part of a centralized Performance testing team and will be responsible for gathering NFR’s, creating tests, model load scenarios and collaborate within Performance team, Dev teams and Business.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
• Define and Implement performance test strategy that enables and supports a continuous integration/ development pipeline
• Performance Testing for Allstate’s new generation applications (Web, API and Mobile apps) and adept in workload modelling aligning to the architecture and product needs
• Participate in Scrum Daily Stand-up, Sprint and iterative development activities prepared to take on any role within an Agile team and participate in Sprint planning, release planning and backlog refinement, retrospectives
• Performance Testing, troubleshooting and triaging issues in testing and production environment
• Collaborate with delivery partners and developers to build solutions on testing and automation to achieve CI/CD and create automated performance test pipelines (groovy Scripting etc..)
• Strong in Non-functional requirements gathering, scripting and analysis and provide guidance to junior team members as needed
• Document, analyze and communicate defects accurately and clearly, follow-up on defects with a sense of ownership
• Work with development and business teams on a daily basis, and help drive non-functional requirements
• Ability to work in a very fast paced development organization

This job does not have supervisory duties.Education and Experience:
8+ Years of Experience in Performance Testing/Engineering Area
In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• No Certification, License or Registration is required for the job.
Essential Skills / criteria:
Experience using Performance Test Tools (Performance Center, LoadRunner, JMeter etc..)
• Sound understanding of Performance Testing concepts and hands on Scripting, Testing and debugging using various tools
• Performance Testing of web and API's and tuning, troubleshooting and identifying performance bottle necks
• Understanding of agile software development and CI/CD pipelines in relation to testing
• Strong in design of test framework, load simulation model, load stats calculations
• Monitoring tools usage such as DataDog / Dynatrace or other APM tools
• Good understanding of Java, Web technology including HTTP headers, HTTP Verbs (post, put, patch get, etc), memory leak analysis, networking and system metrics
