Credit Resolution Clerk-Senior (On-Site)

Under limited supervision, responsible for various clerical duties, special reports/projects and refund request letters. Performs various duties such as approving and balancing refunds totals. Preparing refund vouchers for patient and/or insurance companies. May lead or mentor lower-level team members. Liaison with UT Health Accounting.

Reviews/researches credits on patients account to determine reason for credit and/or if a refund needs to be issued to patient/insurance company.   Preparers refund vouchers to both patient and/or insurance companies.   Printing back up EOB’s to attach to refund checks to mail out.   Review all refund request correspondence, enter comments onto patients accounts.   Verifies other team members refunds for accuracy.   Post refunds on patient accounts.   Works incoming email from various departments requesting refunds/research accounts.   Assist with training and mentoring new employees.   Assists Manager with any special projects/reports.   Performs all other duties as assigned.   Ability to break down and clear credits on patient accounts either due to patient credit or insurance credit. Advanced   Experience with reading/working with all types of Medical EOBs (explanation of benefits). Advanced   Knowledge of Primary, Secondary and tertiary insurance payments. Advanced   Knowledge of Copayments/Coinsurance and Deductible balances. Advanced   Reposting of contractual adjustments/insurance payments to patients accounts if needed to resolve credit on patient’s account.     Experience Five (5) years of related experience is required.

Retirement - Employees are eligible for either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP). TRS is a defined benefit retirement plan which UT Health matches employee contributions. ORP is for eligible faculty staff employees. Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers. 
Time Off - A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:

• Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
• Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
• Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
• Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year.
