The Role

Intern must be available to work full time (40 hours/week) during the 10-week program

 

Program Dates: May 29 – August 7, 2026.

Location: This position is fully remote / work from home in the continental US. 

Work Authorization: US Work Authorization required for this role

We are seeking a passionate and driven Cloud Developer Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying applications in cloud environments. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to real-world projects that impact our business and customers.

The Main Responsibilities

As an Intern in Lumen's Product you will: 

• Collaborate with the Voice Network Engineering team to create real time communications applications utilizing open-source projects.
• Work within AWS cloud environments, assisting in setting up infrastructure such as EC2, Lambda, VPCs, and Direct Connect
• Automate provisioning of services using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Document technical processes and contribute to internal knowledge bases.
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and troubleshooting sessions to enhance development workflows.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required qualifications

• Enrolled at a 4-year Bacherlor’s or 2-year Master’s program on an accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship.
• Graduating August 2026 – May 2028
• Preferred fields include but not limited to: Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Proficiency and understanding of:

• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and end-to-end delivery of cloud-native applications.
• Knowledge on infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar, and AI-supported programming tools (Github/Copilot).
• Understanding of version control concepts, CI/CD process and DevOps. Exposure to GIT and Azure DevOps.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn. Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in agile environments.

Compensation

Internship compensation ranges depend on each individual’s level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role

 

Hourly Based Pay Range:
Min: $ 31/hour
Max:  $ 46/hour
