THE JOB:

As an Sports Official, you will be responsible for both prerace and postrace responsibilities.  This includes investigations of penalties, rulings, and decisions' position is also responsible for determining if the driver, trainer, and horse are eligible to participate in the race.

THE STARTING RATE: $24.64

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Judge‐posting of notices, penalties, rulings, and decisions.

• Supervise the opening of the Declaration Box, correlate and verify the number of entries.

• Assist the Presiding Judge with various duties such as scheduling hearings, hold drivers meeting, observe the performances of drivers and horses before and after the race and ascertain any  violations of the racing rules.

• After racing duties include; handling complaints of foul, conducting investigations, violations, and acts of cruelty toward any horses.  Placement of horses on the Steward's list, establish the  order of finish after each race, examine claims entered, and make collection of outstanding fines.

• Attending and officiating County Fairs, attend hearings as directed by the Presiding Judge, evaluating any prospective drivers for licensing purposes, qualifying horses for competing competitively, answering questions from the public, decide if a driver and/or trainers may apply for a Racing Commission License, and determine if a horse is eligible to participate in a race.
