Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Information Technology Analyst (Power BI/SAP AFO) on the Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) Data Platform team located in Auburn, MI, Houston, TX or Midland, MI. The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.
About you and this role
As the Senior Information Technology Analyst (Power BI/SAP AFO), you will be the primary focal point for 2 key ED&A Services: Power BI and SAP AFO. You will be responsible for consulting, training, and supporting Dow employees in their usage of these tools. You will also occasionally build solutions in these tools on behalf of others. This role will be pivotal in the further maturity of our Hub & Spoke operating model. In this role, you will contribute to the development of our Integrated Data Hub (IDH) architecture.
This role is both technical and functional, as some interactions are technical in nature while others are purely process-related. In this role, you will have the knowledge of and understand the fundamentals of analytics development at a technical level. There has been consistent year-over-year growth in Power BI since 2017. Therefore, it is anticipated that the platform will continue growing over the foreseeable future and this role will play a key part in that growth.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a primary focal point for Microsoft Power BI and SAP AFO, in partnership with team members
- Consults, trains, and supports Dow employees utilizing these services
- Plans & facilitates Office Hours
- Maintains service SOP’s and identifies opportunities for service improvement
- Learns various ED&A services and recommends the appropriate path for stakeholders
- Stays abreast of latest news related to Power BI and SAP AFO and potential ramifications for Dow
- Acts as an analytics evangelist and champions Dow's data and analytics culture change
- Contributes to the maturity of Hub & Spoke
- Contributes to technical architecture of Power BI integration with Integrated Data Hub (IDH)
- Ability to travel within the US as needed
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, 5 years relevant experience, or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher
- A minimum of 2 years analytics experience
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
Preferred Skills
- Initiative/Self-motivation – must be a self-starter as this role includes working with products (specifically Power BI) that continuously change. You should be eager to continue learning and evaluate as it pertains to how Dow should/should not utilize certain features
- Experience with DAX and Power Query
- Experience in change management or service management efforts
