Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Team Leader for a team of Event Engineers for their Global Security Group. This person leads a team of experts who provide technical support of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVCt) training events and the Navy Training Baseline (NTB) suite of distributed simulation applications and utilities. This position is located on Oceana’s Dam Neck Annex and requires periodic local travel to other customer sites in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia.
Additionally, position requires flexibility as duties and responsibilities may be adjusted to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Manages team of engineering technical leads (ETLs) charged with technical planning and execution of training architectures
- Manages ETL schedule assignments to ensure coverage of training events
- Manages and executes standard processes that define successful execution and support of Navy training events and their related architectures
- Conducts training program to ensure team is adequately trained on event engineering processes and procedures
- Provides mentoring and advanced troubleshooting support to team members as they troubleshoot LVCt system related issues.
- Ensures training event system interfaces are configured in accordance with documented interface standards
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Must be familiar with Linux (command line) and Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS)
- Must have technical leadership ability. During LVCt event execution, must be able to address technical issues by understanding which engineering domain problems belong to and then assign engineers from the appropriate domains to resolve issues.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating at various levels of the organization. This may involve lower level technical collaboration on issues with assigned engineers or high level explanation of issues and/or status updates with senior leadership
- Must be familiar with MS Office
- A current CompTIA Security + certification is required for the position
- Must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance
Preferred Requirements
- Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
- Experience with MS Visio software to produce technical architecture drawings
- Knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS
- Experience working with Navy systems and/or commands
Physical Requirements
- May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
- Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
