As as a Quantitative Analytics & Model Development Analyst Sr, you will join PNC's Market Risk Analytics, Automation, and Insight organization. You will be based in either Pittsburgh, PA, Vienna, VA or New York, NY.This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager’s discretion.
As part of the Market Risk Analytics, Automation, and Insights Team, you will take part in numerous Market Risk related initiatives including:
• Database Design
• Analytics Development and Presentation Strategy
• Market Data ETL design
• Model Development
• Model Implementation
• Stress Testing
• Technology testing, recommendations, and POC
This role will provide exposure to many asset classes and trading strategies at PNC (such as fixed income, MBS, MSR, ABS, swaps, and commodities trading as well as PNCs balance sheet investment portfolio). The materials produced are often used by senior leaders and regulators as part of overall PNC market risk assessments and strategy. This position will also allow for opportunities to lead projects and direct and advise more junior colleagues.
Preferred skills include:
• Experience with Python or similar OOP language
• Experience with SQL (preferably Oracle)
• Familiarity with Unix systems
• Experience or knowledge of financial markets, specifically:
○ Trading and Trading Risk Management
○ Portfolio Management
○ Fixed Income and Derivatives Pricing
○ VaR Models
Job Description
- Independently performs advanced quantitative analyses and model development to drive decision-making by running quantitative strategies. Makes recommendations based on analyses.
- Analyzes and develops new model frameworks by supporting the line of business. Refines, monitors, and reviews existing models. Conducts on-going communication with model owners and model developers during the course of the review. Works with larger, more complex datasets to create models.
- Performs quantitative analysis and develops complex reports. Performs qualitative and quantitative assessments of all aspects of models including theoretical aspects, model design and implementation as well as data quality and integrity. Analyzes complex data and associated quantitative analysis. Makes recommendations based on findings from data analytics.
- Uses quantitative tools and techniques to measure and analyze model risks and reaches conclusions on strengths and limitations of the model.
- Prepares and analyzes detailed documents for validation and regulatory compliance, using applicable templates.
