About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer, who is passionate about building and adding to one of the core products at ThousandEyes. As a vital developer on the BGP Platform team, you will be an integral part of leading, designing, and implementing solutions that provide insight into core Internet Infrastructure including ISPs, DNS providers, IaaS, CDNs, SaaS providers and trace the impact of macro-scale Internet events to individual users and enterprise networks connecting at the edge. These events include outages, routing hijacks and leaks, DDoS attacks, and political interference, among others.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering and object-oriented program language experience such as C++
• Strong understanding of data structures and how to apply them
• Comfortable solving problems and ability to drill down, digest, and process code or documents
• Experience working with datastores (specifically SQL/NOSQL)
• Track record of learning quickly, taking ownership and responsibility, and delivering to your customers
• A teammate, who is able to communicate clearly and work with others
• BS or MS with a quantitative focus (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and operating NoSQL technologies (e.g. DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB)
• Working involvement with Spring Framework/Boot
• Proficient in developing open-source technologies
• Ability to work with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Familiarity and working experience in SaaS companies
• Involvement with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms
• Skilled with Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to network protocols is a plus
