Speech Language Pathologist - Elizabeth Lee Black School - Full Time & Part Time

Summary:

At Barber National Institute’s Elizabeth Lee Black School, our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a crucial role in helping individuals enhance their communication skills, improve their quality of life, and reach their full potential. As an SLP, you will work with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and other communication disorders, providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, and other disorders. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment alongside educators, therapists, and families to develop individualized treatment plans and interventions.

What you’ll have:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Preferred
• Current Pennsylvania state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate.
• Valid, active drivers license with a good driving record.
• Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and PA Department of Education FBI Clearance.

A typical day-to-day:

• Conducts screening and evaluations for students in the areas of speech, language and hearing.
• Aides in the selection and scheduling of caseloads.
• Develops Individual Education Plans (IEP) in coordination with parents/guardians, other agency staff members, and LEA.
• Conducts therapeutic intervention in accordance with IEP goals.
• Develops weekly treatment plans corresponding to IEP.
• Develops appropriate instructional materials and techniques to meet the needs of all children served.
• Serves as liaison to administration, parents and the interdisciplinary team in the areas of speech, hearing and language.
• Responsible for data collection and report writing regarding therapeutic intervention.
• Maintains verbal/written contact with parents/guardians regarding therapeutic progress and communication strategies.
• Attends meetings regarding school/BNI and department policies and procedures.
• Implements departmental programs, policies and procedures related to the program.
• Establishes working relationships with other multi-disciplinary team members in the Elizabeth Lee Black School.
