We have an immediate opening for a Strategic Planner in our Overland Park, KS office. The Strategic Planner supports the larger Strategic Planning department which serves as the voice and heart of the consumer across the integrated planning practice within MMGY. Supported by senior Strategic Planning leadership, they assist in translating research into insights and strategic guidance across a variety of clients. The Strategic Planner seeks out and distills proprietary and third-party research to support the development of a strategic foundation, supporting the achievement of client objectives.
Internally, the Strategic Planner aids in the coordination of team activity, developing timelines, outlines, and organizing internal files and documents as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Translate client needs and desires into strong, focused strategic imperatives that will guide cross-channel strategic direction.
- Stay abreast of travel industry trends and institutional dynamics as well as the larger cultural zeitgeist and be proactive in recommending key initiatives to pursue for relevant clients.
- Synthesize and distill information from various data sources to mine key insights, driving the development of key strategic foundation artifacts including project and creative briefs.
- Serve as the connective tissue between cross-channel teams to ensure alignment of tactical efforts to strategic “north star”.
- Participates in and supports the planning and execution of ongoing client planning.
- Support larger strategic initiatives on unassigned accounts as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience in advertising or related field.
- Intense curiosity and a desire to actively seek out and consume trends and data.
- Familiarity with and ability to use third-party research tools.
- Functional knowledge of integrated marketing channels including media, web, social media, PR, experiential, creative, analytics and CRM.
- Ability to distill and analyze research, sees the big picture, and possesses an eye for details.
- Some ability to balance creative and analytical thinking.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to present information to audiences at various levels of authority.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated and able to inspire others.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, develop and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with a range of personalities.
- Strong work ethic and drive, reliable, energetic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google business applications.
