You will play a pivotal role developing and evolving the cloud based Kafka and API Gateway platforms our engineering squads rely upon. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, optimal performance and scalability is built into the patterns and ways of working we use. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kafka, cloud computing and API Integration coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.</p> <p> </p> <p>If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and make a real impact building better software, this is the job for you!  </p> <p> </p> <h2>What's the job?</h2> <p><strong>Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be the Integration SME for one or more Integration platform capabilities</li> <li>Engineering high quality self-serve capabilities to improve the Integration platforms</li> <li>Understand, contribute to and champion the Integration strategies</li> <li>Provide insights for improvements by collecting, analysing, and summarising development and service metrics</li> <li>Actively engages with the Integration Chapter to drive forward improvements in Engineering</li> <li>Ready to assist teams at short notice to collaborate, fix technical issues or provide expertise and guidance</li> <li>Keeps up to date with best practice engineering tools and techniques</li> <li>Accomplishes engineering and organisation mission by completing related results as needed</li> <li>Supports and develops engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities to other members of the team</li> <li>Deputises for other roles in the squad when required</li> <li>Out of hours Platform support</li> </ul> <h2>What you'll bring</h2> <p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Subject matter expertise of Kafka, Event driven designs and API architectures</li> <li>Hands on experience of Confluent data streaming platform</li> <li>Engineering experience with Go, Gitlab, Postgres, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Datadog and Dynatrace</li> <li>Hands on experience of Tyk API Gateway Management or similar</li> <li>Breadth and depth of knowledge of Integration technologies, architecture and principles</li> <li>Generating ideas with colleagues and offering insightful solutions</li> <li>Meeting tight deadlines</li> <li>Mentoring junior members of the squad</li> </ul>
