About the role

The AWS Worldwide Commercial Sales Operations team is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Analytics with broad technical skills, strong financial acumen and a deep analytical background to lead global business intelligence and reporting for the Commercial Sales organization. We are looking for a technically strong, dynamic, and customer-focused data analytics leader with subject matter expertise in building out our data architecture and analytics capabilities. This role will influence the way we support business mechanisms and cadences from a data perspective and work with and across AWS Sales Geos, Finance, Worldwide Revenue Operations, and business leaders.

Leading a team of Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligent Engineers, you will have broad latitude to work with AWS business data including, but not limited to: Revenue, Pipeline, and Forecast. You will provide proactive, deep insights into metrics driving the business on a regular cadence. The right candidate will be passionate about working with large datasets and be able to integrate data from various backend data sources, providing actionable insights and ensuring high reliability and accuracy of reporting and analysis.

Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities are:
  • Design reporting and analytics solutions to measure business performance, identify trends, and automate where possible
  • Create and deliver metrics, reporting platforms, and analytical models critical for tracking and managing the business. This will support daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly mechanisms
  • Develop strong working relationships with other data teams across AWS to consolidate and connect data from a variety of data sources and process data for modeling and reporting purposes
  • Build trusted relationships with Sales leadership and Finance, to deliver reporting solutions and support ad hoc requests
  • Provide subject matter expertise in data integration, transformation, and visualization
  • Hire, develop and mentor a team of high-performance data analysts, BI, and data engineers

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an analytical area such as Computer Science, Management information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar field
  • 8+ years’ experience working with large scale complicated datasets; experience with relevant technologies and of enterprise-level system implementations, such as data warehouses, ETL automation, BI visualization tools, and AWS cloud-based data management tools
  • 5+ years experience managing high performing teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, Master’s or Doctorate degree in math, computer science, engineering, finance, statistics, or a related technical field
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, ETL, data modeling, and working with big data
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: Python, R or SAS
  • Demonstrated ability to manage global projects or programs including work prioritization, planning, and coordination
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with leaders and stakeholders
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methods
  • Experience designing and building self-service analytics, or big data solutions using AWS and Amazon tools and services
  • Tableau, QuickSight, or other visualization tool certifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledg
