Reporting to the Associate Director of Product Design, Member Experience the Senior Product Design Manager, Member Growth will operate both as a manager and an individual contractor, leading design quality across all of Spring’s member growth initiatives. As a manager, you will be accountable for three pods, manage two designers, and partner with the Product and Design leadership teams to establish product direction, prioritize investments, and improve operations to remove mental health barriers worldwide. As an individual contributor, you will practice the end-to-end product design process to increase the number of people who utilize their Spring benefits, find the right care, and improve. As we scale Member Growth, you will hire additional design resources and transition to a full-time manager role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee product and design quality of the entire member growth funnel. Take ownership of design for three cross-functional pods that are focused specifically on helping people with Spring as a benefit create their account, book their first visit, and stay in care until they improve.
- Individual contributor on one of the member funnel pods. Collaboratively define problems, develop solutions, and ship high quality (both solution and visual quality) work that impact pod KPIs. Expect to contribute as an IC for the first 6-12 months.
- People management of two designers. Ensure the people on your team are engaged, growing, and creating impact through 1:1s, coaching, career development, and performance management.
- Translate business objectives into actionable product strategy. Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Data Science, and User Research to refine the product vision, develop a product strategy, and communicate it clearly to each of the pods you manage so they can successfully contribute to the company’s success.
- Maintain product quality and operational efficiency. Quickly discern quality and velocity detractors when reviewing design work, assessing processes, and improving culture. Create cohesion between the goals of Design and Design Systems with the goals of Member Experience.
- Creative leadership. Combine empathy, curiosity, and inspiration to develop truly unique approaches that differentiate Spring and broaden interest in mental health.

- Impact on product and business metrics: Increase the conversion rate of users through three key areas of Spring’s member funnel.
- Impact on design metrics: Maintain or increase the Member Experience’s high system usability scale (SUS).

What we expect from you:
- Portfolio work that demonstrates your experience
