JOB SUMMARY
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) overall responsibilities: The CTO will be responsible for all operational, administrative, and technology leadership duties supporting the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) focus on the implementation, operation and optimization of the primary Electric Medical Record (EMR). The CTO is responsible for operations, administration, and team building for all Vitruvian technology and systems teams to include those supporting the CIO.
The CTO is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and management of Vitruvian Health’s technology infrastructure, information systems and technology support teams. The CTO works closely with the CIO to ensure the alignment of technology initiatives with fiscally responsible organizational goals, oversees the integration of systems across hospitals and clinics, and drives innovation to support patient centered clinical and operational excellence.
The CTO will provide tactical and strategic visionary leadership for all technology and information systems across Vitruvian Health. Develop and execute IT strategy in alignment with enterprise organizational objectives, state and federal compliance requirements, and industry best practices. The CTO will lead, guide and direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure, reliable, and scalable technology infrastructure. In addition, the position will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for data security and privacy, lead, guide and mentor IT teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize technology investments, monitor emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, and collaborate with the CIO and other executive leadership to support strategic initiatives, including EHR implementations and system integrations. The CTO will also lead and guide efforts to ensure strong financial stewardship across all technology functions, ensuring that technology investments deliver maximum value, that costs are appropriately managed, and that opportunities to reduce, avoid, or maintain the cost of information systems are continuously evaluated and acted upon.
Operational and administrative responsibilities include: serving as the primary operational contact for all hospitals and clinics within the Vitruvian Health Care System, leading, guiding and direct teams to oversee day-to-day IT and departmental decision-making unrelated to Epic functionality and optimization. Oversee communication and change management for non-Epic initiatives. Act as liaison with leadership, vendors, and staff during acquisitions or divestitures. Acquire institutional knowledge and governance leadership. Additional responsibilities may be added at a later date.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent hands-on experience in technology systems development, implementation, communications, information systems, team leadership, and strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and enterprise integration may also be considered.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive IT leadership experience in healthcare or a related industry.
Skills: Candidates should have a demonstrated expertise in technology strategy, infrastructure management, and team leadership. Strong understanding of healthcare operations, regulatory requirements, and clinical workflows. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive organizational change and manage financial components of IT operations.
