About the role

This position functions within the Cath Lab at Riley Children's Hospital. Nurses in this area are trained in all roles including circulator, scrub and monitoring. We are looking for experienced nurses with critical care experience who thrive on working in a fast-paced environment.

Shift: Part-time, Days, 3, 8-hour shifts/week + On Call Requirements

*This position is referral eligible.

Nursing skills gained on Cath Lab:

  • Ability to learn about and use sterile operative tools & techniques while being assistants to physicians placing pacemaker and ICD devices.

  • Learning about electrophysiology and how to work in a specialized EP lab. Gain extra training to be able to assist in this room.    

  • Having to obtain and maintain a limited radiology certificate from the state of Indiana to be able to be a functioning cath lab team member. 

Unit Successes/Designations:

  • Accreditation: IAC Cardiovascular Catheterization (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission)

Unit Culture Highlights:

  • We are a small team who work very closely with each other, and rely on one another for help in covering call shifts, absences, etc.       

  • Team members must remain flexible and willing to assist others.  

Qualifications:

  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred. 

  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.

  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. 

  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
