Job Description

  • Writes and edits documentation – including, but not limited to, job plans, procedures, manuals, and bulletins – needed to support the Technical Services department.
  • Reviews and edits documentation created by peers for clarity, grammar, adherence to template, and conformity with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares documentation for publication, including version control, file format, and circulation for approval.
  • Performs field reviews of processes and tasks to ensure documentation is created with consideration of practical application in partnership with technicians and management.
  • Draws, creates, or selects graphics, charts, working drawings, models, illustrations, maps, etc., for publications, displays, or other projects.
  • Modifies sketches, drawings, and other graphical material to meet specific technical or publication requirements.
  • Assists with developing training material and format for department manuals.
  • Reviews and creates Service, Operational, and Safety Bulletins.
  • Reviews change requests and provides feedback for additional information required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Performs research activities by utilizing computer software to obtain and manipulate data.
  • Provides consultation, makes recommendations, gives appropriate advice, and/or facilitates decisions.
  • Reviews and coordinates the preparation of reports, papers, and presentations for management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or higher in English, Communications, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Adobe software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts with short notice.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and management, and willingness to give assistance to co-workers in other areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Project, Visio, and Publisher.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premier.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Theme Park Operations knowledge and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving
