Feed Mill Maintenance Tech

The Feed Mill Maintenance Tech performs daily maintenance on the equipment associated with milling and blending feed.  This position manages traffic flow in the receiving area, unloads grain and ingredients, samples ingredients, empties the feed barrel and maintains warehouse cleanliness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with the Lead operator to fulfill preventive maintenance responsibilities and identified  maintenance issues
• Operates equipment associated with the feed mill
• Handles micro ingredients in tote and bagged form with forklift and by hand when necessary
• Follows  preventative maintenance schedule and performs maintenance duties as assigned
• Follows all mill housekeeping procedures

Backup:

• A trained designee will be appointed by management to cover for absences or vacancies; refer to Rembrandt Foods site-specific facility back-up matrix on file.

Required:

• Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate, atmosphere and equipment
• Ability to work in high elevations
• Hand/Eye/Foot Coordination

• Public relation skills and phone etiquette
• Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand
• Independent  Self Starter/Team Player
• Essential function of the job: requires teamwork and developing strong relationships with co-workers
• Mathematical Skills: Basic Arithmetic, count, add and subtract
• Computer Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet
• Moderate English: speaking, writing and reading for job and safety issues
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
