What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for managing large sized technology projects with high complexity using accepted processes and methods. This includes managing through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within an agile environment. This also includes activities such as risk management and stakeholder expectation management.
- Guides one or more strategically important, multi-disciplinary technology teams in the achievement of technical project objectives for largest, most complex, or strategic technology projects or programs.
- Leads in facilitating team information and workflow.
- Leads in removing barriers to timely and cost-effective project completion. Incorporates best practices and/or agile development methodologies.
- Develops and documents technical project schedules, milestones and budgets for team. Typically shares budget, schedule, milestone and cost / benefit decision-making responsibilities, but not accountability, with technology managers, including writing technical specifications
- Prioritizes activities and communicates project status to stakeholders.
- Prioritizes and adjusts technology project resources, staff, assets and schedules to ensure timely and effective project outcomes. Provides recommendations and assists team members and leaders in making cost / benefit decisions.
- Leads project meetings. Implements activities that generally impact multiple components / processes and the work of own and several other units / teams / projects. Typically assigned to highly strategic / complex / high risk undertakings. Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of the professional function and expertise in key areas.
- Develops, or may lead in developing, technical / business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.
- Interacts with internal and external peers and management to share highly complex information / solutions related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology / business solutions.
- Presents issues to and works with management to resolve critical resource conflicts.
- Receives work in the form of short- and mid-term outcomes that frequently require the application of independent judgment and creativity.
- Mentors less experienced members of the team. Serves as a resource to other technical project managers to resolve highly complex problems.
- Work is subject to management review at major milestones. Operates within the context of generally defined operating outcomes.

- Solid understanding of project management tools and methodologies.
- Experience in leading high-impact technical projects.
- Proactive, decisive, and adaptable with a problem-solving orientation.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressively complex experience in technical project management
- BA/BS degree in a related field OR relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Strong technical background in software development or IT infrastructure.
