The role: 

We’re looking for our next senior region 4 planner – transportation and growth management (TGM)! You will work closely with the Statewide Transportation Planning Unit within the Policy, Data and Analysis Division but will report to the Region 4 planning and programming manager. In this role, you will work with a variety of internal and external partners to create comprehensive long range transportation system development solutions. You’ll implement projects for the transportation and growth management (TGM) program and for region 4 planning which includes coordinating with program staff, region staff and applicants. A day in the life:

  • Support transportation growth management goals and objectives, set priorities and allocate resources within the region.

  • Communicate program objectives with local communities and help them understand program and grant requirements.

  • Evaluate and award transportation growth management grant applications.

  • Develop transportation growth management agreements, scopes of work and work order contracts to deliver projects, and complete project closeout for grants and contracts.

  • Manage and monitor progress on grants for compliance with policies, procedures, timelines and grant terms.

  • Negotiate with consultants and local agencies on breakdown of costs to complete projects and recommend invoice approval for consultant payments.

  • Assist local agencies in developing scopes of work for transportation system planning preparation.

  • Review draft plans for compliance and analyze the impact of policy decisions and legislation for planning projects.

  • Manage regional long range planning projects.

  • Review development proposals.

  • Requires occasional after hours work and traveling around the region and state.

  • Hybrid work options available – in office work is anticipated up to two days per week.
