Accounting - Collections Analyst

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented collections analyst to join our Finance Team. This role will oversee the credit and collections activities of the firm and manage the collection of outstanding invoices while following company policy. FLSA Status: Hourly – Non-Exempt Job Classification: Reports and is responsible to the Accounting Manager. Essential Duties:
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Planning, evaluating, implementing and continuously improving all aspects of credit and collection functions and processes.
- Assisting in formulation of specific collection objectives and achievement of same.
- Monitor assigned accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collection.
- Ensuring professional relationships are established and maintained with clients and attorneys.
- Working closely with CFO, Controller and Accounting Manager to respond to credit and collection concerns with existing and potential clients.
- Direct interaction with selected clients in resolving receivables delinquencies and participating in the escalation process for severely delinquent accounts.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned and appropriate to accounting functions.
- Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in collections.
- Strong systems skills; solid collection, analytical and negotiating skills; effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Elite 3E Production System preferred.
- Sitting frequently, six out of eight hours per day. Sitting position static for up to one half hour at a time.
- Lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day.
- Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one half hour per day.
